Roewe 350: de eerste auto met Android

vrijdag 28 mei 2010 — Het was al eerder bekend gemaakt maar nu zijn er meer details bekend over de Roewe 350. De auto van Chinese makelij is de eerste auto met Android 2.1.

Internet en car maakt Inkanet

Het systeem is gebaseerd op Android en heeft de naam Inkanet gekregen wat een samenvoeging is van Internet en ‘Car’. Het op Android gebaseerde Operating System is de software voor de onboard computer en is gelinkt met het GPS navigatiesysteem.  Android heeft geen functie als software voor de motor of andere mechanische componenten.

Het systeem kan de eigenaar identificeren door middel van een SD kaart. Het scherm is uiteraard Touch Sensitive. Om met internet te verbinding te maken gebruikt de onboard computer 3G technologie van China Unicom.

De voordelen van Android Inkanet in de auto. 

Met inkanet kan je traffic in real-time volgen. Je kunt kaarten in 2D en 3D bekijken. Als je bent verdwaald bent dan heb je meerdere opties om je weg weer terug te vinden:

• Je kunt bellen met het callcenter van Inkanet.
• Er is een routekaart service (G-Book) die je de weg kan wijzen of je alternatieve routekaarten suggereren om te downloaden.
• En je kunt contact opnemen met het GPS systeem (OnStar)

Een andere leuke feature is de Walkie-Talki functie. Met deze applicatie kan je chatten en bellen met je vrienden als die ook Inkanet hebben.

Teveel afleiding met Android in de auto?

Naast de handige hulp bij het autorijden kan je nog meer met Inkanet. Het is mogelijk om mail te verzenden en te ontvangen. Je ermee kunt bellen en sms’en. Je kunt videos kijken, het weer opvragen en nog veel meer.

Omdat Android Open Source is kunnen zijn de operspectieven voor het ontwikkelen van applicaties enorm.

Het systeem is helaas niet compatible met Android Market maar dat is misschien maar goed ook. Te veel afleiding kan wel eens verkeerde gevolgen hebben. Niemand wordt graag overreden vanwege leuke Android foefjes.
